01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Au Bureau - Pub et Brasserie is a vibrant and inviting restaurant and pub located along the picturesque Quai de Boisguilbert in the heart of Rouen, France. This unique spot masterfully blends the richness of French cuisine with the casual comfort of an Irish pub and the hearty satisfaction of European flavors, making it a favorite destination for locals and travelers alike.

Step inside to experience an industrial-chic interior that exudes a cozy yet lively atmosphere—ideal for casual dining, after-work drinks, or catching a game with friends. The layout, with its views overlooking the Seine River, invites you to relax and savor the moment, whether during a leisurely lunch or a summer evening date.

The menu at Au Bureau is a delightful mosaic of robust flavors and classic comfort dishes. Among the standout starters are the fresh and vibrant salads like the Salade Queen Victoria, featuring perfectly poached eggs, smoky bacon, and crispy roasted potatoes tossed with mesclun greens and a tangy balsamic vinaigrette. If you’re craving something truly indulgent, the Mac & Raclette is a soul-warming treat—creamy macaroni embraced by a luscious three-pepper raclette béchamel, layered with caramelized onions and crispy onions for added texture and smoky depth.

For the main course, the Fish & Chips delivers a crispy, golden crust paired beautifully with tartar sauce and fresh fries, while the Croque Montagnard offers a mouthwatering blend of melted Emmental, Gruyère, and Beaufort cheeses topped with a sunny-side-up egg, smoky bacon, and a hint of smoked paprika. Their take on classic pub favorites also shines in the Chicken Pie, a hearty, comforting dish filled with succulent pulled chicken, mushroom, and onion caramelized richness in a creamy honey and herb sauce, accompanied by perfectly roasted potatoes.

For those who treasure cheese, Au Bureau’s Camembert Rôti treats guests to a whole roasted Camembert layered with rustic cured meats and seasonal accompaniments. The hearty Welsh Royal is another must-try—a true pub classic marrying melted cheese with smoked ham on toasted bread, evoking both French comfort and Irish pub charm.

Beyond the exquisite food, the welcoming staff at Au Bureau elevate the experience with warm, friendly service. Guests repeatedly highlight the excellent attention from the team, creating a pleasant ambiance that perfectly balances casual charm with attentive hospitality. While the pub is popular for sports viewing, some guests have noted limited screen availability, yet the relaxed vibe, curated music playlists, and occasional live performances—especially jazz—fill the atmosphere with a captivating buzz.

Whether you’re in Rouen for a relaxed meal overlooking the river, a sporty night out with friends, or simply craving expertly crafted burgers and hearty brasserie fare with a European touch, Au Bureau promises an authentic and satisfying dining experience. This pub-restaurant effortlessly captures the spirit of conviviality, flavor, and comfort that will leave a lasting impression.

One of the best burgers I've had In ages, service was excellent. I'm only deducting a point as the place is seen as good for sports, but I found the small screens, and the lack of sport I wanted (channel wouldn't work staff tried their best) to watch. I think a summer night date would be perfect here looking out over the river.

First thanks to woman who served us, she was so joyful even though she made buy flowers to the girls who were among us. Anyway the bureau it's really a cosy place, if you like listening to some band playing live music such as jazz and other while having a bite then you should think about the bureau. And the music is quiet.

Great location on the river. Very nice industrial interior. And great food. We had finger food, burger and goat cheese salad and they were very good. Yes, it's a bit weird to eat such an American dinner in France, but if you are staying in a hotel nearby and don't want to walk far then it's perfect. Our waiter spoke very little English, but was super friendly and nice and did a great job!

Ate here twice. Not far from our hotel and on the Seine River. Staff was very nice, service and food was great. Had a tartine and it was fabulous! Great gin and tonic cocktail. Reasonable prices.

We enjoyed a nice salad and some red wine. With nice live music in the background we were welcomed by Sami and Amiure that made us feel welcome. The setting next to the Seine is also perfect for a summer evening.
